Cybersecurity Developer / Blue-Team Builder / Creative Technologist

Mustafa Uğur Erkan builds security tools people can actually use.

Known online as MegaZegan, I combine programming, IT support, design, and cybersecurity practice into portfolio projects that show how I think, build, test, and communicate.

Open to cybersecurity and developer roles

Istanbul based. Native Turkish, upper-intermediate English. Ready to learn fast and contribute in real teams.

Profile

A developer moving deliberately into cybersecurity.

My background mixes computer programming, database work, web development, social media operations, creative tools, and hands-on IT problem solving. That combination helps me build security tools that are technical, readable, and presentable.

Working style

I adapt quickly to new environments, learn the toolchain, and take ownership of practical problems. I like fixing broken systems, documenting what happened, and turning one-off solutions into reusable tools.

For hiring teams, this portfolio is designed to show more than keywords: code, UI thinking, defensive security examples, documentation, and the ability to ship.

Portfolio Evidence

Security projects organized like a hiring manager wants to scan them.

The strongest projects are published on GitHub. Additional labs show the categories I am actively building toward: SOC, cloud, AppSec, network analysis, threat intelligence, and secure web.

Published GitHub ProjectRetro SOC Terminal

VaultWatch-Terminal

Fallout/Pip-Boy inspired terminal tool that analyzes local telemetry and turns suspicious activity into a retro vault dashboard.

  • Detects suspicious auth, DNS, outbound transfers, privilege changes, beacon timing, and secret-shaped values.
  • Exports JSON and Markdown reports with safe local-only sample data.

Published GitHub ProjectSOC / Detection

SentinelForge

Defensive SOC analytics toolkit that normalizes logs, applies detection rules, scores risk, and generates HTML reports for analyst review.

  • Brute force, impossible travel, privilege escalation, IOC, probing, and exfiltration detections.
  • Python CLI, pytest coverage, sample telemetry, report generator.

Published GitHub ProjectLog Triage / SOC

TraceLens

Defensive log triage CLI for suspicious authentication, firewall, DNS, and outbound traffic patterns.

  • Analyzes local CSV/JSONL telemetry without touching live targets.
  • Shows practical SOC thinking through clean Python modules and tests.

Published GitHub ProjectCloud Security

CloudPolicyLens

IAM-style cloud policy linter for risky permissions, public principals, unbounded PassRole, broad NotAction, and missing guardrails.

  • Turns policy risk into explainable findings with remediation guidance.
  • Good fit for pull request reviews and least-privilege conversations.

Published GitHub ProjectDevSecOps

SecretHawk

Local defensive secret scanner with regex checks, entropy scoring, masked findings, allowlist comments, JSON, and SARIF output.

  • Designed to catch secrets before they reach production.
  • SARIF output makes it CI and code-scanning friendly.

Published GitHub ProjectCreative Frontend

PipBoy-3000-Interface

Fallout-inspired interactive Pip-Boy interface with retro terminal UI, themes, inventory, map, and radio panels.

  • Shows creative UI recreation, animation, and responsive frontend work.
  • Published as a GitHub Pages demo.
Live demo
Published GitHub ProjectPython Fundamentals

AlgoKit-Lite

Small Python algorithms and data-structure toolkit with CLI demos and tests.

  • Includes sorting, searching, graph algorithms, LRU cache, and text utilities.
  • Shows core software engineering skill outside security tooling.

Portfolio LabNetwork Defense

PacketPulse

Network traffic triage concept for turning flow logs into suspicious-behavior summaries: unusual ports, volume spikes, beacon-like timing, and risky destinations.

  • Shows how I would approach network telemetry from a defender point of view.
  • Expandable into a Python CLI using CSV/Zeek-style logs.

Portfolio LabThreat Intel

IOC Workbench

Safe browser-based indicator checker that demonstrates normalization, matching, severity scoring, and analyst notes without touching live targets.

  • IP/domain/hash style matching with simple risk context.
  • Useful for explaining alert enrichment in interviews.

Portfolio LabSecure Web

Secure Portfolio Engine

This website itself is a project: responsive UI, multilingual content, accessibility, safe client-side security demos, and GitHub Pages deployment.

  • Shows frontend polish plus technical storytelling.
  • Built as a static site for speed, simplicity, and free hosting.

Safe Cybersecurity Examples

Interactive labs that explain how I think.

These examples run only in the browser. They are defensive demonstrations: no scanning real targets, no exploitation, no credential testing.

Password Risk Triage

AppSec

A quick estimator that checks length, variety, repetition, and common weak terms.

IOC Matcher

Threat Intel

Paste indicators and see safe local matches against a tiny demo watchlist.

SOC Log Triage Simulator

SOC

A miniature version of alert reasoning: failed logins, suspicious geography, and risky admin activity become a ranked finding.
